Zaterdag naar Tonnerre was een zware etappe: 31km en heel veel klimmen. Het was erg warm en Marc had erg veel pijn in z'n voeten.

De avond was erg gezellig. Gegeten bij de japanner, heerlijke fles witte wijn erbij. Uiteraard een Chablis! Daarna na een rugby wedstrijd gekeken. Daar hoort natuurlijk bier bij. Dat vonden Marc en Jean-Marc ook! Jean-Marc was helemaal gelukkig dat zijn team Toulouse gewonnen had. Hij heeft Marc helemaal enthousiast weten te krijgen voor het spel(misschien hadden de Chablis en het bier er ook iets mee te maken).

Zondagochtend pas laat vertrokken. Zo pas tegen 11 uur. Het regende dus hebben wij maar van de gelegenheid gebruik gemaakt om rustig aan te doen. Ook nemen wij na 6 dagen afscheid van Jean-Marc. Hier scheiden onze paden. Hoewel hij ook naar Vezelay gaat kiest hij voor een andere route. Wij willen eerst naar Auxerre om daar te rusten en wat inkopen te doen. Het was erg leuk om met iemand te lopen die onze ideeën over de camino deelt. Bedankt Jean-Marc. Wij zien elkaar in Santiago de Compostela!

Maandag ineens in de middle of nowhere, staan er een aantal kersenbomen met heel veel mooie kersen. De verleiding was te groot. Angstig om ons heen kijkend want je weet niet hoe groot de boer, noch zijn hond noch zijn geweer zijn, hebben wij DE OVERVAL gepleegd. Wat een heerlijke kersen! In de middag komen wij aan in Auxerre. Marc blijft last houden van zijn voeten. Wij zijn wel toe aan een dagje rust.  

Marc heeft een paar nieuwe schoenen gekocht. Hopelijk lost dit een deel van zijn 'voeten probleem' op.

Woensdag tijdens het ontbijt, besloten wij dat een tweede rustdag goed zou zijn. Wij blijven woensdag ook in Auxerre

Luie pelgrims:)

La etapa del sabado a Tonnerre fue muy dura. 31km, muy pendiente. Hacia mucha calor y Marc tenia mucho dolor en los pies. La tarde/noche si que estuvo muy bien. Cenamos en un restaurante japones. Pedimos una botella de vino blanco, por supuesto un Chablis. Despues estuvimos mirando un partido de rugby. Para esta ocasion se necesitaba cerveza. Al menos asi opinaron Jean-Marc y Marc. Jean-Marc estaba feliz pues su equipo, Toulouse, gano el partido esa noche. Tanto es que ha conseguido entusiasmar a Marc para seguir el rugby (quizas el Chablis y la cerveza le echaron una mano).

El domingo salimos tarde, alrededor de las 11. Estaba lloviendo asi que aprovechamos la ocasion... Tambien nos despedimos de Jean-Marc despues de 6 dias juntos. Aqui se separan nuestros caminos. El tambien va para Vezelay pero por otra ruta.Nosotros queremos ir primero a Auxerre para descansar un dia y hacer algo de compra. Se agradece caminar con alguien que comparte nuestras ideas sobre el camino.

El lunes de repente en el medio de la nada vemos varios arboles con cerezas. La tentacion fue tan grande que no la pudimos resistir. Con miedo, pues uno no sabe lo grande que puede ser el campesino, ni su perro, ni su escopeta, Al ASALTO. Que buenisimas estaban las cerezas!Por la tarde llegamos a Auxerre. Marc sigue con dolor en los pies. Necesitamos descansar un dia.

Mientras tanto Marc se ha comprado otros zapatos

Esperemos que esto sea (parte) de la solucion, de librarse del dolor en sus pies. El miercoles durante el desayuno decidimos que un segundo dia de descanso no estaria mal. Pasamos el miercoles tambien en Auxerre. Peregrinos vagos:)

The Saturday to Tonnerre was tough. 31km, up hill. It was warm and Marc had pain in his feet. The evening was very nice. Dinner a Japanese restaurant, bottle of white wine, Chablis of course. After we have been watching a rugby game. Apparently beer is ' the' drink during such an event. At least that's what Jean-Marc and Marc thought. Jean-Marc was very happy that his team, Toulouse, won the game. He got Marc all warmed up for the rugby game(beer and Chablis might have had something to do with this as well).

We left late on Sunday morning. It was almost 11 O'clock. It was raining so we grabbed the opportunity... Also we said goodbye to Jean-Marc after 6 days walking together. Our roads part here. Although he also continues to Vezelay, he will take a different way. We want to continue our way via Auxerre to rest one day and do some shopping. It was good to meet and walk with someone who shared our ideas about the camino. Thanks Jean-Marc w'll see you in Santiago de Compostela!

Monday, in the middle of nowhere we saw a couple of chery trees. The temptation was too big. Scared, since one doesn't know how big the farmer is, neither his dog nor his rifle we proceed to  ATTACK. The cherries were delicious. The same afternoon we arrived to Auxerre. Marc still having painfull feet. We need to rest one day. In the meantime Marc bought a new pair of shoes. Let's hope this, part of, the solution to get rid of the pain he has been having. Wednesday morning during breakfast we decided that a second day of rest would not be a bad idea at all. So we spent a second day at Auxerre. Lazy pilgrims:)

We moesten even zoeken maar uiteindelijk toch gevonden: de lokale supermarkt!

Hemos tenido que buscar un rato pero al fin conseguimos encontrarlo: el supermercado local!

We had to search for a little while but at the end we did find it: The local supermarket!

D32 Bar sur Seine-Bragelogne 25km

Goede (bijna berg)etappe vandaag. We zijn vanmorgen om kwart voor 8 vertrokken en om kwart voor 3 waren we er al. We komen met een zekere regelmaat door leuke dorpjes. Marc blijft ook in Frankrijk vrienden maken:) Vandaag zitten we in een leuk verblijf (gite rural). Een echte luxe voor pelgrims. Het is een compleet huisje met 2 slaapkamers. Iedere slaapkamer heeft een eigen badkamer. Er is zelfs een wasmachine en wasmiddel! Wij moeten wel oppassen dat we niet verleren hoe met de hand in een te kleine wasbak te wassen:)

Buena etapa (casi de montaña) hoy. Esta mañana salimos a las 8 menos cuarto y llegamos ya a las 3 menos cuarto. Pasamos con cierta frecuencia por lindos pueblecitos. Tambien en Francia, Marc continua haciendo amigos:) Hoy estamos en un alojamiento muy majo(gite rural). Un verdadero lujo para peregrinos. Es una casa completa con dos dormitorios. Cada uno con su sala de baño. Hasta hay una lavadora y detergente! Tenemos que tener cuidado de no olvidarnos de como se lava a mano en una pileta demasiado pequeña:)

It was a good (almost mountain) stage today. This morning we started at a quarter to eight and arrived at a quarter to three. We pass through nice villages with a certain frequency. Also in France Marc keeps making friends :). Today we are at a nice lodge. A true luxery for pilgrims. It's a complete house with 2 bedrooms. Each one has it's own bathroom. There is even a washing machine and washing powder! We need to be careful not to forget how to wash by hand in a too small a sink:)

D32 La loge aux Chevre - Bar sur Seine 25km

Druppeltje regen die al droog was voordat het ons raakte. Blijft warm. In het bos ons pad moeten zoeken. Gelukkig werkt de anti-mug spray goed:) Vanmorgen een vosje gezien midden op een tarweveld. Jammer dat ie niet wilde wachten om op de foto te gaan. Voeten en benen hebben zich weer goed gedragen dus kortom weer een geweldige dag.

Hoy ha caido una gotita de lluvia que ya estaba seca antes de caernos encima. Sigue haciendo calor. En el bosque hemos tenido que buscar el sendero. Menos mal que el spray anti-mosquitos funciona bien:) Esta mañana hemos visto un zorro en una finca de trigo. Es una lastima que no quiso esperar para hacerle una foto. Pies y piernas se han vuelto a portar bien hoy asi que con otras palabras de nuevo un dia estupendo.

Today we had a few raindrops which where already dry before they hit us. It remains warm. In the woods we had to search for the path. Luckely the anti-mosquito spray works well:) This morning we saw a fox in a wheat field. It is a shame he wouldn't wait to take a picture. Today feet and legs 'behaved' good again so in other words another great day.

D31 Brienne le Chateau-La loge aux Chevres 24km

Al een maand onderweg! Reeds over de 600 km gewandeld. Een koffer vol ervaringen en verhalen. Wij weten niet wat er nog komen gaat maar tot nu toe is het fantastisch geweest. Soms erg zwaar met name fysiek. Zolang onze gevoel voor humor goed bijft...: Lachen is onze medicijn. De laatste 3 dagen hebben we samen met Jean-Marc gelopen (de fransman) en ook met hem veel gelachen. Hij en Marc hebben bedacht dat ze iedere dag een 'filosofie vd camino' moesten bedenken. Gisteren was het 'met een zonnenbril zie je alles beter'. Ja, daar moet je de camino voor doen! Wat het vandaag wordt is nog niet besloten. We zien het landschap weer veranderen, krijgen weer iets meer heuveltjes. Na een week goed weer weten we al van tevoren wat de groet zal worden van de (weinige) mensen die wij tegenkomen: 'Il fail chaud!' (het is warm). Soms is het ook echt zo, het asfalt op de weg blijft plakken aan onze schoenzolen. Richting het einde vd week zou het iets afkoelen, komt er een vast een andere groet:)

Ya llevamos un mes en camino! Mas de 600km caminados. Una maleta llena de experiencias y historias. No sabemos lo que vendra pero hasta ahora todo esto ha sido una experiencia fantastica. Fisicamente muy pesado por veces. Siempre y cuando mantengamos el buen humor...: reirnos es nuestra medicina. Los ultimos 3 dias caminamos junto con Jean-Marc(el frances). Con el tambien nos reimos bien. El y Marc han pensado que deberian pensarse diariamente una 'filosofia del camino'. La de ayer fue que con gafas de sol se ve todo mejor. Si, si hay que hacer el camino para llegar a semejante sabiduria! La de hoy todavia no llegaron a decirse. Vemos cambiar el paisaje, de nuevo un poquito mas montañoso. Despues de una semana ya sabemos de antemano como nos van a saludar las (pocas) personas que nos encontramos: 'Bonjour, Il fait chaud'(Buen dia, hace calor) Aveces si que es cierto, hasta el asfalto de la carretara se nos pega a las suelos de los zapatos. A ultimos de esta semana se esperan temperaturas mas bajas. Probablemente cambie el saludo tambien:)

We are already on the way for one month! We walked over 600km, gathered a suitcase full of experiences and stories. We have no idea what's yet to come but so far it has been a fantastic experience. Physically heavy now and then. As long as we maintain a good sense of humor...: laughing is our medicine! The last 3 days we have been walking together with Jean-Marc(the french guy). With him we also have good laughs. He and Marc decided to come up with a daily 'philosophy of the way'. The one of yesterday was that with sunglasses one can see things better. Yes indeed you need to walk the camino to get to such wisdom. Today's one is still to be decided. We see how the landscape changes, again more hills. After one week of good weather we already know upfront how the (few)people we come across will greet us: 'Bonjour, il fait chaud'(good day, it's warm). Sometimes this is really true, even the asphalt of the road sticks to the soles of our shoes. By the end of this week the temperature is expected to decrease. We are guessing that the local greeting will then change as well:).

Langzaam aan worden de te lopen kilometers op een dag niet langer door ons bepaald. Dwz we moeten lopen naar de volgende slaapplaats op de route. Het leuke is wel dat we inmiddels zo'n beetje alle soorten van slaapmogelijkheden hebben meegemaakt. Anders dan 2 keer koud moeten douchen is het altijd goed geweest. Gisterenochtend kwam er een pelgrim op ons af, een fransman. Hij zegt jij bent Polly en jij bent Marc! He wat, hoe? Blijkt dat hij al 10 dagen achter ons loopt. Omdat in de slaapplaatsen een gastenboek ligt waar iedereen in schrijft, heeft hij ons op zo'n manier gevolgd. Grappig, toch?. We lopen nu al 2 dagen samen. Gisterenavond hebben we ook 2 fietspelgrims uit Belgie ontmoet. Leuke avond dus, zo met z'n allen. Het is nu al ruim een week goed weer, veel zon. Gevolg: heeel veeel muggen. Zelfs met takken proberen wij ze van ons af te houden!

Vandaag een apotheek gevonden waar we een anti-mug spray hebben kunnen kopen. Probleem opgelost! (Hopen we).

Over een kleine houten brug zijn wij vanmorgen de regio/departement l' Aube binnen gewandeld.

Poco o poco dejamos de ser nosotros los que decidimos cuantos km caminamos. Quiero decir que no tenemos otra opcion que caminar hasta el proximo alojamiento en la ruta. Lo bueno es que ya hemos visto todo tipo de alojamiento que nos podemos imaginar. Excepto tenerse que duchar en agua fria en dos ocasiones, en realidad no tenemos ninguna queja. Ayer por la mañana se nos acerca un peregrino, un frances. Nos dice: 'tu eres Poly y tu eres Marc'. He, que, como? Aparentemente llevaba ya 10 dias caminando detras de nosotros. Como todos los alojamientos tienen un libro para que los huespedes escriban algo, el nos venia siguiendo. Q gracioso, no? Ahora llevamos ya dos dias caminando con el. Ayer noche tambien nos encontramos con dos peregrinos belgas en bici. Ha sido una noche divertida, cenando todos juntos.

Tenemos ya una semana de buen tiempo. Sol y calor. Consequencia: muchiiisimos mosquitos! Usamos hasta ramas de arboles para quitarnoslos de encima! Por fin hoy encontramos una farmacia para comprarnos un spray anti-mosquitos. Problema resuelto(esperamos)

Por un puente de madera entramos la region/departamento de l' Aube esta mañana.

By now it's no longer us deciding how many kilometers w'll walk. I mean to say that we just have to walk to the next lodge. The nice thing is that we have seen close to all types of lodgings by now. Except for having to take a cold shower on 2 occassions, we have nothing to complain about.  Yesterday morning a pilgrim walks up to us, a french guy. He says:'You are Polly and you are Marc'. He, what, how? Apparently he had been walking just behind us for 10 days. Since usually we all write something in the guest books of the lodges where we spend the night, he had been able to follow us. Funny right? Now we are walking together for the last 2 days. Yesterday evening we also met 2 Belgian pilgrims on their bikes. We had a very nice evening all together. For the last week the weather has been very nice. Sunny and warm. Consequently, looots of mosquitos. We even used branches of trees to keep them of our body. Finally today we found a pharmacy and bought some anti mosquito spray. Problem solved!(We hope)

D24 Verzenay-Condé sur Marne 24,5km

Wat een fantastische dag! Voor vertrek uit Verzenay vers brood gehaald voor het ontbijt en voor onderweg. Het mag duidelijk zijn dat wij wakker werden met met trek, om het maar geen honger te noemen:)  De temperatuur is gestegen en het zonnetje heeft de hele dag geschenen. Het was flink zweten maar om af te koelen kunnen we onderweg met onze voeten in het water. Wat een bofkonten zijn wij ook!  Het is zo prettig om onderweg lekker in het gras te kunnen zitten met een appel(fruit) kijkend naar al het moois om ons heen. Zo hebben we vandaag een vos op een paar meter afstand kunnen bewonderen. Vanavond hebben we een leuke B&B gevonden, inclusief avondeten!   

Que dia fantastico el de hoy! Antes de salir de Verzenay fuimos por pan fresco para desayunar y para el camino. Esta claro que esta mañana despertamos con apetito, por no decir hambre:) La temperatura ha subido y el sol ha calentado todo el dia. Sudar si sudamos pero por el camino tenemos la posibilidad de refrescar los pies en el agua. Que afortunados somos! Es estupendo poder sentarse en la hierba con una manzana (fruta) en la mano mirando todo lo hermoso que nos rodea. Asi hemos podido admirar hoy un zorro a tan solo unos metros de distancia. Para esta noche hemos encontrado  una habitacion en una casa particular(B&B), cena incluida :)

What a wonderful day today! Before leaving Verzenay we got some fresh bread for breakfast and for on go.

It might be clear that we got an apetite this morning, or call it hunger:). The temperature has risen and the sun was shining the entire day. We did sweat but we got the possibility to cool our feet in cold water. We are so lucky! It's great to sit down in the grass with an apple (fruit) and look at all the beauty surrounding us. Today, we have been able to admire a fox standing at only a few meters away. For this evening we found a nice B&B, including dinner :)

D24 Reims-Verzenay 20km

Wij lopen nu al een aantal dagen door de Champagne streek. Omdat het vandaag mooi weer is hadden wij gedacht lekker vroeg te stoppen met lopen, een flesje champagne en wat lekkere hapjes te kopen. Lekker genieten en uitrusten in de tuin van ons slaapverblijf. Wat blijkt? Champagne kunnen we hier in het dorpje overal kopen. Eten is echter wat lastiger! Er is hier één supermarktje en die sluit op woensdagmiddag!! GEEN ETEN. Het ontbijt in Reims is alles wat we vandaag aan voedsel hebben weten te vinden. Nu weet ik ineens waarom ik al weken lang een paar muesli repen en oploskoffie mee draag! Menu vd dag: Muesli repen + koffie. Als dessert hadden we zuurtjes in verschillende vruchtensmaken. Die heb ik bij de apotheek kunnen kopen. Ja, die is wel open op woensdagmiddag! Wij gaan maar vroeg slapen. Supermarktje is morgenochtend al om 8 uur open. Wij hopen dat hun voorraad groot genoeg is:)

Llevamos ya varios dias caminando por la region del champan(Champagne). Como hoy hace bueno pensamos de parar temprano, comprar una botella de champan y algunas cosillas ricas para comer. A disfrutar y descansar en el jardin que tenemos delante de nuestro alojamiento. Resulta que en este pueblo podemos comprar el champan que queramos. !Encontrar comida es mas  complicado! Aqui hay UN supermercado pequeñito y esta cerrado el miercoles por la tarde. NO TENEMOS COMIDA. El desayuno en Reims es lo unico que hemos encontrado hoy. De repente se por que llevo ya semanas cargando con unas barras de muesli y sobres de cafe instantaneo/nescafe.

Menu del dia: Barras de Muesli + Cafe. De postre tenemos caramelos sabor a frutas que he conseguido comprar en la farmacia. Esta no cierra el miercoles por la tarde! Nos acostaremos pronto. El super abre ya a las ocho de la mañana. Esperemos que estean bien surtidos!

We have been walking through the Champagne region for a couple days.

Today, since it's nice weather we had the idea of having an early one, to buy ourselves a bottle of nice champagne and some tasty food. In the garden of our lodge we would then enjoy all of this and have a good rest. Well, it appears that in this village we can buy as many champagne as we like. Buying food gets complicated! There is one little supermarket here which is closed on Wednesday afternoon! NO FOOD. The breakfast we had this morning in Reims is the only food we have been able to find during the entire day. I realise now why it makes sense to carry around muesli bars and instant coffee for weeks. Tourist Menu: Muesli Bar + Coffee. For dessert we have some fruit flavoured candy bought at  the local pharmacy which IS open on Wednesday afternoon. W'll have an early night. The shop opens at 8 am. Let's hope they have enough food in stock!

D23 Reims

Gisterenochtend besloten wij om de dag in Reims door te brengen. De stad is te interessant om zo maar voorbij te lopen. Voor 1 dagje voelen wij ons toeristen ipv pelgrims:) De waarheid moet ook gezegd worden: Het was genieten om eventjes in een 'grote' stad te zijn!

Ayer por la mañana decidimos pasar el dia en Reims. Esta ciudad es demasiado interesante para pasar de largo asi sin mas. Por un dia nos sentimos turistas en vez de peregrinos:). La verdad sea dicha: que gozada pasar un ratito en una ciudad 'grande'!

Yesterday morning we decided to stay in Reims for the day. This town is too interesting to just pass by. For one day we felt like tourists i.o. pilgrims:) The truth must be told: It was great to spend again some time in a 'big' city!

De koeien en prikkeldraad herinneren er ons aan dat er toch mensen in de buurt moeten zijn.

Wij komen echter uren lang geen mens tegen. Vandaag delen wij ons ons pad met hazen, konijnen, eekhoorntjes en waarschijnlijk andere wezens die te klein zijn om met het menselijk oog waar te nemen:). Wat een contrast met de grote stad waar wij altijd geleefd hebben!

Las vacas  y los alambres nos hacen recordar que debe de haber gente por cerca. Sin embargo caminamos durante horas sin encontrar a nadie. Hoy compartimos nuestro camino con conejos, liebres, ardillas y probablemente otras criaturas tan pequeñas que se hacen invisibles para el ojo humano:) !Que contraste con la gran ciudad en la que siempre hemos vivido!

The cows and barbed wire remind us of the fact that there must be humans not too far away. We walked for hours without seeing anyone. Today we share our paths with rabbits, hares, squirrels and probably other creatures too small to be seen with the human eye:). What a contrast with the big city we have always lived in!

Rocroi - Aubigny-les-Pothees 22km

Marc heeft voor zijn verjaardag een korte wandeling van 22 km gekregen. Hij is er blij mee daar hij lekker vroeg even op bed kon gaan liggen. Bovendien zorgt zo'n kado niet voor extra gewicht in z'n rugzak :)

Marc ha recibido como regalo de cumple un pequeño paseo de 22km. Esta muy contento pues hoy ha podido tumbarse bastante temprano sobre la cama. Ademas este regalo no añade peso a su mochila:)    

Marc got for his birthday a short walk of 22km. He was very happy with it as he could lay down on a bed very early. Also such present doesn't add any weight to his rucksack:)

D17 Olloy S/V-Rocroi 28km & D18: RELAX

Wat een avontuurlijke paden hadden we gisteren! Hier en daar werden ze wel erg smal en stijl! Af en toe zoeken wij naar een alternatief daar de oorspronkelijke paden onder omgevallen bomen, water en modder liggen. Voordeel is wel dat je op zo'n dag als vandaag bijna al je spieren in je lijf gebruikt om jezelf overeind en droog te houden. Wie heeft er een sportschool nodig?  Marc heeft de laatste 5km erg veel pijn in z'n voeten. Gelukkig is het vandaag een rustdag. Voor ons , goede pelgrims, is hemelvaartdag een feestdag die wij niet kunnen negeren:) Vandaag hebben wij de dag doorgebracht in Rocroi. Dit is een plaatsje in Frankrijk, net over de grens.

Zijn goed uitgerust. Wij hebben de verleiding weten te weerstaan om erg veel te doen: ER VALT HIER NIETS TE DOEN! Morgen vertrekken we richting Reims. Verwachten daar over 4-5 dagen te zijn.

Por que senderos caminamos ayer, todo una aventura! De vez en cuando  digamos que bastante estrechos y pendientes. Tambien a veces nos veiamos obligados a buscar un camino alternativo ya que por los que supuestamente teniamos que pasar estaban cubiertos de troncos, ramas de arboles, agua y barro. Lo bueno de un dia como el de ayer es que uno tiene que usar practicamente todos los musculos que tiene el cuerpo para mantenerse en pie y sin mojarse. Quien necesita un gimnasio? Marc ha tenido mucho dolor en los pies durante los ultimos 5km. Menos mal que hoy tenemos un dia de descanso. Para nosotros, buenos peregrinos, el dia de la Ascension es un dia festivo que no podemos ignorar:) Hoy pasamos el dia en Rocroi. En Francia justo al pasar la frontera. Hemos descansado bien. Hemos resistido la tentacion de hacer mucho durante el dia: AQUI NO HAY NADA!

Mañana continuaremos en direccion de Reims a donde esperamos llegar en 4-5 dias.

 

We had to walk on adventurous paths yesterday! They became really small and steep from time to time. Alternative paths had to be found as the original ones turned out to be covered with trees, water and mud. The positive thing about such a day is that one gets to use all muscles in the body just to stay on your feet and keep dry.  Who needs a gym? Marc had a lot of pain in his feet during the last 5km. Fortunately, today we planned a break/resting day. For us, good pilgrims, Ascension day is a holiday which we simply can't ignore:) Today we spend the day in Rocroi. In France, just across the border. We had a good rest. We have been able to resist the temptation of being very active. THERE IS NOTHING TO DO HERE! Tomorrow we will leave for Reims where we expect to arrive in 4-5 days.

D16 Givet-Olloy sur Viroin 25km

Wat eeen gevecht vandaag!. Zware start door graspad zo smal dat zelfs twee muizen niet naast elkaar zouden kunnen lopen :(. Veel regen en om voldoende afleiding te houden ook maar dikke hagelstenen. Ondanks alles hebben we snel gelopen. Waarschijnlijk gaat het automatisch bij slecht weer :) 'snel naar een warme douche' blijft dat stemmetje herhalen de hele dag!   

Que lucha hoy! Empezamos el dia ya por un camino de hierba, tan estrecho que ni dos ratones hubieran podido caminar de par en par :( Mucha lluvia y para distraernos tambien granizo bien gordo. A pesar de todo hemos caminado bien rapido. Me supongo que esto es algo que uno tiene que hacer cuando hay mal tiempo: 'Rapido, rapido a esa ducha bien caliente' es lo que una voz te repite todo el dia!

What a fight today! The start was already a tough one. We had to walk through a path covered with grass. This path was so small that it would have been impossible for even 2 mices to walk side by side. Lots of rain. In order not to get bored some hail as well. Despite everything we did walk fast. I guess this is something one must do during bad weather: 'Quick,quick get to a warm shower' is what a voice keeps repeating the whole day.

D15 Anhee-Givets 34km

Denken dat je er al bent maar dan toch nog 4km moeten lopen is niet leuk.Benen en voeten hebben het seintje gekregen dat het goed is zo dus zie ze maar weer te overtuigen om door te gaan! Gisteren bleek  dat na de geplande afstand van 30km wij nog eens 4km moesten lopen naar onze slaapplaats. Inmiddels weten wij dat er niets is wat een warme douche, eten en een bed goed kunnen maken

Pensar que ya has llegado pero tener que caminar 4km mas no es broma. Piernas y pies ya han recibido la señal que han cumplido. A ver quien vuelve a poner todo en marcha! Ayer despues de caminar los 30km segun plan, nos enteramos que quedaban otros 4km mas para llegar a nuestro alojamiento. Una ducha caliente, comida y una cama y ya todo paso, ya todo esta bien.

To think that you are already there but having to walk another 4km is no joke. Legs and feet recieved already the signal that they are done for the day. Try to convince them otherwise! Yesterday after walking 30km as planned. To get to our accommodation we learned that we had another 4km to go. By now we know that there is nothing that a hot shower, food and a bed won't make up for.

Van dinsdag t/m zondag vervolgen wij onze weg door Belgie(nu Franstallig)

Vandaag, zondag was het een heerlijke dag. Voor het eerst na 13 dagen de hele dag zon. Wij hebben de hele dag langs de Maas gelopen. Mooie vergezichten.

Gisteren in Namen hebben wij een medepelgrim ontmoet. Een heer uit Deurne(vlak bij Eindhoven). Ook hij loopt naar Santiago de Compostela. Vandaag hebben wij samen met hem gelopen. Vanavond zijn we weer in een geweldige gastenkamer voor pelgrims.

Vrienden van de camino worden onderweg op prijs gesteld.

Morgenavond zullen we even in Frankrijk zijn(Givet) om vervolgens overmorgen weer in Belgie te lopen en dezelfde avond nog bij de grensplaats Rocroi aan te komen. Ongeveer 2.250 km te gaan!

Del martes al domingo continuamos nuestro camino por Belgica(ahora Frances hablante). Hoy, domingo fue un dia genial. Despues de 13 dias, ha calentado el sol todo el dia. Hoy caminamos por la orilla del rio Maas(Mueze). Bonito paisaje. Ayer en Namen nos encontramos con otro peregrino. Un señor de Deurne(Cerca de Eindhoven). El tambien hace el camino hasta Santiago. Hoy caminamos junto con el. Esta noche estamos de nuevo en una casa que acoge peregrinos. Se agradece encontrar estos amigos del camino.

Mañana llegaremos a Francia. Al dia siguiente volveremos a caminar en Belgica y el mismo dia llegaremos a Rocroi la frontera Belgica-Francia.

Mas o menos 2.250 km por caminar!

From Tuesday to Sunday we continue our way through Belgium(now French speaking). Today, Sunday has been a great day. After 13 days of rain and sad weather, we had sunshine the entire day. We walked along the river Maas(Meuze). Very nice views. Yesterday at Namen we met another pilgrim. A gentleman from Deurne(Eindhoven) He is also walking to Santiago. Today, the 3 of us walked together. This evening we are at a guestroom for pilgrims. We appreciate these friends of the camino. Tomorrow we will be in France. The day after we will walk again in Belgium and arrive again to Rocroi the border between Belgium and France. Abt 2.250km to go!

Ma, het gebeurt mij ook! Ben ik een uur bezig geweest om de gebeurtenissen vd laatste vier dagen te schrijven. WEG! Nooit geweten dat de Delete en Send optie zo dicht bij elkaar waren. Marc probeert zijn lach in te houden:) Nu, eindelijk met een zonnetje, vertrekken we naar Namen.

Mama,  A mi tambien me pasa! Estoy una hora escribiendo nuestras experiencias de los ultimos cuatro dias. SE FUERON. Nunca me habia dado de cuenta que la opcion de enviar y de borrar estan tan cerca. Marc intenta contener su risa. Ahora, por fin con sol, nos vamos a Namur.

Mom, It also happens to me! For an entire  hour I've been written down our experiences over the last 4 days. GONE.

I never noticed that the delete and send option were that close to one another. Marc tries not to laugh. Now, and finally in the sunshine, we leave for Namen.
